Thomas Tuchel questioned his Chelsea team’s commitment “physically and mentally” after they were thrashed 4-0 by Arsenal.
First half goals from Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard put the Gunners in complete control at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando before Bukayo Saka added in the second half and Albert Sambi Lokonga rubbed salt into the wounds and a headache during the injury.
Tuchel admitted he was worried and not holding back after seeing his side lose to one of their Premier League rivals with the new season just two weeks away.
“I think we deserved to lose – which is very appropriate – because we were not good enough,” he said.
“We are not competitive at all. What is worrying is the level of commitment, physical and mental, because this game is not the same, it is higher for Arsenal than for us.
“We can argue that they played with I think their strongest line; they have been together for many weeks and more than one year. They have strengthened their line, played in the structure same, and this is the line- on which they will try to start Premier League games.
“It’s not our strongest line and this is part of an explanation, but only a part, the other part is worrying.”
