Valley sports fans, especially Arizona Cardinals fans, are well aware of former Cardinals quarterback Ron Wolfley’s boisterous personality.

He works in the broadcast booth for the Cardinals as well as 98.7 FM Arizona Sports Wolf & Luke eats, sleeps and breathes Wolfley Valley sports.

On Friday, Wolfley met someone just as passionate about the Cardinals: Isaiah Cosme.

Cosme, a Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) survivor, is a Cardinals fan.

SBS is physical abuse resulting from violently shaking a child.

Upon meeting Wolfley, Cosme referred to him as a ‘wedge buster’, one of the sayings on the radio.

Cosme impressed the former NFL player with his knowledge of the game, asking Wolfley why the running back position has declined since 1991.

“This kid knows what he’s talking about here,” Wolfley said.

The two discussed how the running back is making a comeback in today’s NFL, with Wolfley telling Cosme that 22 teams currently use one.

Wolfley then gifted Cosme with a cool Cardinals turn, highlighted by a new camo hat that just hit stores.

“Awesome human being, awesome kid,” Wolfley said after his time with Cosme. “The miracle that he is, the story that he has, although sad, is very triumphant.”

Wolfley added that it was an honor to be in Cosme’s presence, and says the way he deals with adversity is inspiring.

“To see him do that is amazing to me, I respect that a lot from this young guy,” Wolfley said. “(We) want to do everything we can, of course to love him.”

The former defender and radio host told Cosmer that this was the beginning of their friendship.

Cosme ended things with Wolfley and play-by-play announcer Dave Pasch saying he wishes he could watch a Cardinals broadcast.

“You know what, I’ll work on it,” Wolfley said.
