INDIANAPOLIS – Patrick Talty, who helped organize the 2021 NCAA men’s basketball tournament and was an executive with World Wrestling Entertainment, has been elected president of Indiana Sports Corp.
Talty has been the director of operations for the organization that attracts and hosts major sporting events in Indianapolis. He is the seventh president of Sports Corp, which started in 1979.
He succeeds Ryan Vaughn, who resigned after eight years in the role.
“Our focus is to continue Indy’s rich history of hosting world-class sporting events and creating significant impact that goes far beyond the competition venue,” Talty said in a news release.

He was previously the general manager of the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, overseeing and managing one of the newest stadiums in the NFL. During that time, the stadium hosted Super Bowl LII and the 2019 Men’s Final Four.
Prior to that, Talty was WWE’s Senior Vice President of Live Events.
In Indianapolis, he has served on the Indiana Basketball Academy, the Stephenson Group, and on the executive staff of the Indiana Convention Center and the RCA Dome. With Sports Corp, he had a role in last year’s NCAA tournament that was held entirely in Indiana and primarily at four Indianapolis venues.
Talty, a Virginia Tech graduate, did graduate school at Ball State.
