There is a 5,000 gallon water tank in front of the house to collect rainwater and waterless urinals, which combined save about 40,000 gallons of water annually.

The house also has 60 roof-mounted solar panels that provide electricity for hot water and underfloor heating. The exterior is also sustainable, but lushly landscaped with native plants and a rock garden.
