There is a new issue that has raised ugly heads in this round of elections. There is some evidence that the Democratic Party is giving radical support to Trump in the primaries. I don’t know how widespread this is, but I want to continue to consider rejecting this practice in the strongest possible way.
This is dirty politics at its worst and if it ends in even one such Republican winning the next election then it will cost a lot.
We can’t do this kind of politics, and then try to make moral claims against corruption. As Democrats, we must do better than this. If we give any credit to the Republicans, it should be to the Republicans who have stood up against Trump’s corruption.
We need a strong Republican Party and an enemy to this formidable enemy is no friend to our democracy.
