DULUTH, Minn. – An effort is underway to make the most of the summer challenge for the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank.

From now until the end of July, donations will be matched to provide additional fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy and other healthy foods to help families and children thrive this summer.

Second Harvest officials say the food shelf has supported 78 percent more people since the beginning of the year, providing food to more than 2,000 people who are experiencing skyrocketing costs of basic necessities.
