Loyola will honor Rosen at its annual Business Leader of the Year Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront in Harbor East, Baltimore.

“In addition to leading one of Baltimore’s most respected law firms, Barry has provided consistent leadership to Maryland’s health care community over the years through his expert leadership,” said Mary Ann Scully, dean of Loyola’s Sellinger School of Business. “His work with this critical industry has made our communities better and stronger and helped us maintain our well-deserved reputation as a leader in healthcare. We are grateful for his service and are proud to honor him this year for his steadfast leadership of his company, local hospitals, health systems and the healthcare industry.”

Along with the guidance of Gordon Feinblatt, Rosen heads the firm’s 60-lawyer full-service healthcare group. Rosen’s practice focuses on healthcare, antitrust consulting and litigation, computer hardware and software procurement, and government financing.

His work includes the creation, merger and acquisition of hospitals and hospital systems, development of surgery centers, structuring of joint ventures between hospitals and physicians, and full reviews and certificates of need. Rosen has advised physicians, dentists, hospitals, professional associations, nursing homes, home health agencies, insurers and medical equipment manufacturers.

Among his civic activities, Rosen chairs the board of directors of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. His skill and leadership were instrumental in securing BSO’s 2019-2020 contract. with his musicians and his new five-year collective bargaining agreement – ​​with key elements directly attributable to his voice. He also serves on state health commissions and is a past chairman of the sponsoring boards of Loyola’s Sellinger School of Business, Sinai Hospital and LifeBridge Health.

Rosen has been named among the Best Lawyers in America® for more than 20 years. The Daily Record also named him among the 30 Powers in Law and 30 Powers in Health in 2021.

He received his law degree from Harvard Law School and his bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University. Rosen regularly lectures and publishes articles on health topics.
