WATERVILLE – Chad Roger, a member of the business insurance team at GHM Insurance Agency in Waterville, completed the Workers Compensation Professional certification issued by the American Society of Workers’ Compensation Professionals.

Certification provides a strong educational foundation in various aspects of the Workers’ Compensation Industry. Roger completed his certification in a nine-week virtual program offered by the University of Southern Maine.

The program highlighted workers’ compensation history, statutory regulations, benefits, claims administration, cost containment strategies, bidding methods, exclusive remedies challenges, federal legislation and insurance availability.

It took a lot of commitment to get certified – this kind of dedication and professional development will serve our clients and the rest of our team.

At GHM, Roger has been working with private individuals, families and companies on their insurance needs since 2018. He is also a Certified Professional Insurance Agent.

Maine State Credit Union ranked 2nd on Forbes Best-In-State Credit Union 2022

Northern Light Health’s board of directors re-elects its chairman and becomes the new vice-chairman

Kathy Corey has been re-elected chairman of Northern Light Health’s board of directors for a third one-year term. The elections were held at the annual board meeting on June 15 in Brever. Corey is the former owner of the now employee-owned company Day’s Jewelers. Previously, she served on the board of trusts of Northern Light Inland Hospital. “I look forward to working as chairman of the board of directors. Working with the Northern Light Health leadership team to continue delivering high-quality care to the communities we serve in Maine is particularly rewarding, ”Corey said, according to a Northern Light Health press release.

In addition to selecting the annual corporate list and the annual list of directors, the board of directors also elected John Ryan as vice chairman. He is the Executive Vice President and Principal Adviser for Temple University Health System. Previously, he served as the advisor general at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He began his legal career as an assistant district attorney at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law and New York University. He and his wife live in Philadelphia.

During the meeting, the board of directors recognized the merits and contributions of outgoing directors, Dr. Jay Reynolds and James Donnelly, then welcomed Dr. James Fullwood as the new director of the board. Fullwood is a certified podiatric foot and ankle surgeon in a specialist services unit, providing all aspects of foot and ankle care at Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital. Fullwood will serve as a physician in the active medical staff of Sebasticook Valley Hospital for one three-year term.

Earlier that day, there was also an annual meeting of Northern Light Health corporations, where they heard senior leaders and approved both the corporate list and Northern Light Health’s list of directors.
