A Jennings man has been arrested after threatening hospital staff and damaging a local business with a sling.

Heath Allen Broussard, 41, of Jennings, was arrested in China on a charge of assault and two counts of aggravated assault.

He remains in the jail of Jeff Davis Parish on a $ 21,000 fine.

Jennings police responded to Ochsner American Legion Hospital with allegations of harassment. Police received a tip-off from the victim and took statements from the victims. They reviewed the viewing video and saw Broussard as an imaginary.

Officials later received a complaint from a local business community about damage to property.

During the inspection, video officials spotted Broussard in front of the business holding what appeared to be a slingshot. Broussard was seen pulling a sling in the video and releasing it, causing the front door of the business to collapse.

Police found Broussard and arrested him.
