When it comes to satire, there may not be a better show than Prime Video’s The Boys. Through three seasons, the show has managed to stay up-to-date with trending topics in real life, while constantly poking fun at events, political figures, or deals in the entertainment industry. So when HBO Max and Discovery+ announced the merger of their streaming services, Amazon’s popular TV series was quick to jump on the deal.

The company in the universe, Vought, is a play on the huge corporations that provide entertainment today. They are involved in pharmaceuticals, the film and TV industry, books, video games, and more. Of course, Vought will have a streaming service as well, and they want to be clear about what they’re getting into via an announcement tweet.

“Vought is bringing your streaming together in one, pretty easy-to-use app. VTV+, VNN+, and VSN+ are now part of Vought++! It’s a plus-plus, for just an additional $29.99 a month. Re-watch Dawn of the Seven with the guys, dive into Property Flippers with the gals, and more!”

The new subscription service will include such hit titles as Black Noir: Insurrection, Queen Maeve: Her Majesty, Rising Tide, Translucent: Invisible Force 2, and, of course, Dawn of the Seven. No, none of these movies will ever be available to watch, but it’s great to see The Boys take on some of the real-life events as fans patiently await the Season 4.

The Boys Have Never Been Afraid of Making Fun of Big Corporations

Despite Amazon being the studio behind The Boys, the superhero show has never been afraid to have fun with bigger companies. They introduced VoughtLand in Season 3, a Disney World spinoff with a fun twist. This may interest you : Is The Resort on Netflix? During the break between Season 2 andamp; 3, Amazon Studios and Prime Video released a series of news segments on YouTube as part of VNN, sharing breaking stories as they happen in the Boys universe. Now, Vought is clearly having fun with the HBO Max and Discovery+ Merger, particularly with the names and gender division between the services.

The CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery set a precedent for the merger of streaming services, saying that HBO Max had a more male bias while Discovery+ leaned more towards women. But, of course, the Boys realize how inaccurate this can be, despite any data that has been accumulated, and say, “Watch Dawn of the Seven with the guys, dive into Property Flippers with the gals!”

Fans of The Boys will be excited to see what real-world storylines pick up for Season 4, which will begin filming later this month.
