AGBO’s The Gray Man climbs the ladder to become one of the most watched movies of all time in its first 28 days on Netflix. Next, it eclipses AGBO Extraction, whose all-time list of streamers includes The Adam Project and Birdbox.
“The goal was to give the audience fun and heart. Obviously, they respond,” Russo said. He and Anthony Russo are directing Millie Bobby Brown in The Electric State for Netflix, and they’re considering a sequel to The Gray Man that will see Ryan Gosling return as an undercover government agent/assassin. “Moving forward, the battle for Sierra Six is whether she can forge a new destiny from the CIA, or is she destined to be an agent of death forever,” Russo told Deadline.
“Grey Man” has been one of several satisfying streaming movies, the others being the Predator installment Prey and the Thai cave thriller rescue film Thirteen Lives, any of which could have made it to the big screen. AGBO’s one recent release, the Daniels-directed Everything Everywhere All at Once, crosses $100 million worldwide via A24.
The last issues of Gray Man are 1-7. until August; Netflix’s all-time ranking is based on hours watched on the streamer during the title’s first 28 days.
