This article discusses the Prime Video film Samaritan, including information on the release date, premise, cast, production, and other details.
While Perdana Video has had a ton of success entering the TV space, I still think they are struggling in the area of original movies. However, that didn’t stop them from trying, including the release of Samaritan, a superhero-ish-style movie starring Sylvester Stallone.
Will we see an exciting addition to the superhero movie space? Here’s everything we know about Samaritan’s Prime Video movie.
Samaritan release date
The Samaritan will debut on Prime Video on August 26, 2022.
Samaritan premise
Courtesy of Prime Video, thirteen-year-old Sam Cleary (Javon Walton) suspects that the mysterious and reclusive neighbor Mr. Smith (Sylvester Stallone) is truly a legend hiding in plain sight. Twenty-five years ago, Granite City’s vigilante, Samaritan, reportedly died after a battle with his rival, Nemesis. Everyone thought he was left for dead, but some people including Sam hoped he was still alive.
I don’t hate the premise, but I’m also unsure how I feel about the film. However, I will say that Prime Video has done a great job with The Boys, which mixes in the world of superheroes, so I am hoping they can put some strong energy into this movie. Is there a soundtrack?
As of now, no, there is no soundtrack for this movie. This may interest you : ‘The Wilds’ canceled by Prime Video after 2 seasons.
Is there a trailer for Samaritan?
The trailer sets the tone of the entire movie and maybe gives a little more away than I hope. We see how Samaritan gets us exposed by Sam in proving that he is right about who he is, which I don’t like. Next, we see stakes as the whole city in shambles with crime. Finally, we’ve seen our villain figure out who he is. I would hate to see all of this unfold in the trailer. With all that being said, I hold out (for the hero) hopefully this will be good.
