EXCLUSIVE: Kimi Rutledge landed a starring role alongside Nick Zano and Shelley Hennig in Obliterated, Netflix’s one-hour action comedy series from Cobra creators Kai Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald.

This is a big break for Seattle-based Rutledge, and marks the young actor’s first major role. He replaces Amalia Yoo, who was originally cast in the series by Sony Pictures Television.

Written by Hurwitz, Schlossberg and Heald, the eight Obliterated episodes, now in production, tell the story of an elite Special Forces team fighting a deadly threat in Las Vegas. After their celebratory party filled with alcohol, drugs and sex, the team discovers that a bomb they deactivated was a fake. The now drunk team must fight their own impairments, overcome their personal problems, find the real bomb and save the world.

Rutledge, who is of Japanese descent, plays the regular role of Maya, a young NSA tech savvy in the field for the first time and wildly out of her element.

Hurwitz, Schlossberg and Heald are executive producers, along with Dina Hillier for Counterbalance Entertainment.

Ruthledge is represented by the Encompass agency and the management company All About You.
