The Laguna Beach Cultural Center will present “Rainbow River”, a new painting by Clara Woods during the Art Walk from 6 to 8 p.m. on the 4th of August.
Woods suffered a stroke at birth and could not read, write, or speak. However, she understands Portuguese, Italian, and English. In 2018, with the support of her family, Frida Kahlo, her museum, Woods was inspired to make her first exhibition. This exhibition was held in Florence, Italy, where she was born.
Since then, Woods has had about 30 exhibitions on three continents, and in 2021, Louis Vuitton sponsored her art exhibition at Art Basel, Miami. She sold more than 700 paintings around the world and moved to California after receiving a visa to enter the United States as an extraordinary talent.
“Clara’s success story is an exciting one for all of us,” Cultural Center executive director Rick Conkey said in an email.
