As summer draws to a close, that doesn’t mean there won’t be a shortage of new Netflix series on our watch lists. August brings probably some of the best shows of the year.
While everyone is still talking about Stranger Things and theorizing what might happen in the upcoming fifth and final season, it’s time to turn our attention to some different teen dramas like Never Have I Ever and Locke & Key.
Elsewhere on Netflix in August, other new shows include a highly anticipated comic book adaptation, a reality series, a docu-series, and what could very well be the next addictive limited series. But are they all worth adding to your watch list?

Never Have I Ever season 3
To watch! The teen comedy series from co-creator Mindy Kaling returns for its penultimate season and will be the best yet. Given Devi’s decision in the season 2 finale, she and Paxton are officially together, but we know to expect the unexpected from Devi. Don’t miss a second of Never Have I Ever Season 3 when it premieres August 12 on Netflix.
The Sandman
To watch! Based on the comic book by Neil Gaiman, The Sandman could be one of the most anticipated new Netflix series this year. Whether or not these fantastical, sci-fi series are your thing, it’s worth checking out because it’s likely to be the next hit for Netflix. See the article : Don’t Make Me Go is coming to Prime Video tonight (July 15). Add the 10-episode first season to your watchlist on August 5.
I Just Killed My Dad
Skip! Every month, Netflix releases a new documentary series or two looking to replicate the success they’ve had with such content in the past. I Just Killed My Dad arrives on August 9 and is a chilling three-part series that tells the true story of the Templet family. On the same subject : Amazon brings ‘Lord of the Rings’, ‘Thursday Night Football’ to Prime Day Push. If docuseries are too close to your heart, skip I Just Killed My Dad. Otherwise, enjoy the latest addition to Netflix’s true crime catalog.
Locke & Key season 3
To watch! Netflix’s teen fantasy series is wrapping up its third and final season. If you haven’t seen Locke & Crucially, now is the perfect time to start binge-watching the first two seasons before season three brings the Locke family story to a close. The eight-episode final season will be released on Wednesday, August 10.
Echoes
To watch! You know you’ve been waiting for the next best addictive limited series, and Netflix is sure to deliver in August with Echoes. Michelle Monaghan stars as twin sisters Leni and Gina, who secretly switch lives during adulthood and share two husbands, homes and families. But when one of the twins goes missing, their spree finally kicks off. Echoes premieres all seven episodes on August 19 and also stars Matt Bomer, Daniel Sunjata, Karen Robinson and Jonathan Tucker.

Selling the OC
Skip! Thanks to the success of the real estate reality series Selling Sunset, Netflix has not launched its own reality series franchise focused on the dramatic world of luxury real estate. Selling the OC is the latest entry in the selling saga and features a new batch of Oppenheim Group Realtors taking on Orange County, California. Unless you’re into drama, skip this one on August 24th.
Mo
To watch! From co-creators and executive producers Mohammed “Mo” Amer and Ramy Youssef, Mo focuses on Mo Najjar, a Palestinian refugee living in Houston, Texas with his family as he adjusts to his new surroundings on his way to becoming an American citizen. The heartwarming comedy will feature eight 30-minute episodes and could be the next fan favorite when it premieres on August 24.
The Cuphead Show! season 2
Skip! There are so many fun animated series coming to Netflix in August, including the second season of The Cuphead Show!, which premieres on August 19th. Based on the hit video game, the series returns for another season. Have fun and laughs in the new season, but if you haven’t already watched the series, it might not be your priority for August.
Partner Track
To watch! Based on the book by Helen Wan, Partner Track stars Arden Cho as Ingrid Yun, an ambitious young lawyer working her way up to partner at a high-powered New York law firm. Based on the success of The Lincoln Lawyer, another escapist legal drama could be just what Netflix needs, with a new series premiering this August.
