A year after HBO left Amazon Prime Video, winning the streak, HBO Max may be back. Bloomberg reports that Amazon and HBO Max owner, Warner Bros. Discovery, they are in talks with you to make it easier to subscribe directly to HBO Max Amazon Prime.
Before Warner Bros. Discovery had the ambition to go head-to-head with Netflix and Disney in the big streaming battles, made a respected business and played well with other streamers and connected its service to other subscribers. Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV Plus, and even Hulu all charge you $ 15 a month so you can watch it live on HBO instead of using HBO. The tactic was similar to how HBO was operating in a TV space — essentially functioning as a major producer of other services. Starz, AMC, and Sundance still work this way.
But when AT&T bought HBO, it wanted to separate its new service. HBO Max was made from different types of HBO and was marketed as an expensive service that combined all HBO shows, with original content, refugees from other AT&T services (the famous Harley Quinn was originally a DC Universe private ), and most of the Warner Bros. library. When Discovery took over from Warner Bros. (and all the different types of HBO) at AT&T, she continued to rely on that plan, ending the intertwined tradition of focusing on making HBO Max on the go.
The move has cost HBO Max more than 5 million subscribers. Apparently, customers just don’t sign up for content – as most streaming companies insist. They also want a service that is easy to manage, used in a comfortable and familiar, non-absorbent app.
The HBO Max program sucks a lot. I personally am not a fan of the Video Games program, but I really understand that some people can be a fan and see the alternative management of two different clients and two different scary programs.
The return of the package, at least until the release of the new Warner Bros. Discovery mega program, could be a positive step for the company, which has seen its shares fall 45 percent since the merger. According to Bloomberg, the deal was not made, though. Warner Bros. Discovery is kept until Amazon agrees to some additional terms – such as sharing viewing dimensions. Here we are hopeful that while the lawyers will elaborate, some of the project manager at Warner Bros. Discovery can get the HBO Max app in good shape. It’s 2022, and most of the content on HBO Max is still not running in 4K.
