We are in mid-2022, and as far as TV is concerned, it’s been a pretty good year for new shows so far. An obvious highlight is Netflix Heartstopper’s LGBTQ + love story. The healthy teenage romance made viewers feel all the animated butterflies and lightning bolts as they watched Charlie and Nick’s friendship blossom into something more, so it’s no surprise that this series tops IMDb’s top 10 list. new TV series so far this year.

Heartstopper, based on the graphic novels by Alice Oseman, has found an audience with Netflix subscribers around the world, as it entered the streamer’s Top 10 in 54 countries and quickly landed a rare two-season renewal. IMDb has also released its top 10 comeback shows, based on user ratings from the same six-month period, and this year’s beloved British crime drama Peaky Blinders tops the list. The sixth and final season was finally released on Netflix in the US last month and it’s no surprise that audiences were thrilled to see how it all turned out. Like Peaky Blinders, a number of shows in their recent seasons have garnered the highest ratings from IMDb users. The second half of Better Call Saul’s sixth and final season returns to AMC on July 11.
