Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna will travel to Washington from October 20 to 21.
She will meet her counterpart, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, as well as the President‘s Special Envoy for Climate, John Kerry, ahead of the opening of COP 27.
During her visit, talks will cover all aspects of bilateral relations, particularly regarding our continued support for Ukraine. They will also discuss Iran, Lebanon, Haiti, the Sahel and energy supply. A report will be given on progress in implementing the commitments contained in the US-France joint statement adopted by the heads of state in Rome on October 29, 2021.
In addition, this visit is part of the preparations for the state visit of the French President to the United States from December 1 to 2.
The Minister will speak about transatlantic relations at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and then meet with staff from the French Embassy and Consulate General in Washington.
