The city tops the survey by Conde Nast Traveler, while Rogers Park is recognized as the best place to live.

The accolades have been rolling in for Chicago over the last week.

On Tuesday, Chicago was named the Best Big City in the United States for an unprecedented sixth consecutive year. The honor comes through the annual Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards and was voted for by more than 240,000 people from across the country. A city had never won this many times in a row until now.

“It’s no wonder that Chicago is once again at the top of this list. A world-class destination known for its impressive architecture, first-rate museums, brilliant chefs, and massive beer scene, it will take several repeat visits to cross off the to-do list,” stated the editors of Conde Nast Traveler.

As most Chicagoans already know, it’s completely true. The city has no shortage of restaurants, bars and great things to do. There’s always something new to discover on every street corner, from the North Side to the South Side, which is why a Chicago neighborhood has also been recognized by the personal finance publication Money.

In a recently released list, Rogers Park was No. 5 in Money’s rankings of the 50 best places to live in the United States. It was the only Chicago location to make the cut, earning praise for its diversity, walkability, access to public transit and several places of worship. Naperville was the other Illinois representative, landing at No. 16.

“Few places are as welcoming to different religions, creeds or ethnicities as Rogers Park, an underdog neighborhood located in the northeast corner of Chicago,” Money wrote.

And earlier this year, Time Out readers ranked Chicago as the second best city in the entire world, behind only Edinburgh, Scotland. Time Out Chicago editor Emma Krupp said, “Whether you want to try world-class food, party until 4am in historic clubs, spend a day soaking up the sun along Lake Michigan, see works of art iconic arts or just wandering among different neighborhoods, there is never a dull moment to be had.”
