Australia, Brazil, Great Britain and Slovenia each won the first gold medals of the 2022 World Athletics Championships on Tuesday evening as the track and field championships. field reached the midpoint of their 10-day run at Hayward Field in Eugene.

Meanwhile, the United States collected two more medals on the track as Rai Benjamin took the silver and Trevor Bassitt the bronze in the men’s 400-meter hurdles. This gives the United States 18 medals – six gold, five silver and seven bronze – with five days of competition remaining.
