Washington, D.C. – US high-mobility missile systems used in Ukraine affect the conflict there between Ukrainians who are fighting to preserve their national sovereignty and Russian forces who have illegally invaded that country.
The M142 HIMARS system enables the launch of multiple, precision-guided missiles. The United States has already delivered eight systems to Ukraine, and last week promised to send four more, for a total of 12 systems.
During a Pentagon briefing today, a senior military official said the Defense Department believes HIMARS has an indirect but significant impact on frontline operations.
