Our nations are united in our love for freedom and our unwavering commitment to democracy. As Americans work to strengthen democracy at home and abroad, we are seeing the blossoming of many forms of democracy in Montenegro, and increasing democracy. strength, togetherness, and participation.
This year, we celebrate Montenegro’s fifth anniversary as a member of NATO. Russia’s violent war against Ukraine emphasizes that we must all be diligent in defending freedom, which the United States is proud to do with its NATO Ally Montenegro. I thank the communities in Montenegro that have opened their doors to refugees and provided humanitarian assistance in Ukraine.
The United States will stand next to Montenegro, a friend, ally, and ally, as it moves forward on its Euro-Atlantic route and takes its rightful place as a full-fledged representative of Europe.
