The US Department of State announced today that 65 US citizen diplomats and 33 international partners, all alumni of the US government exchange program, will receive a federal grant through the Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund (CDAF) to implement public service projects with the aim of addressing major global issues. problems and foster mutual understanding. Since 2019, 189 U.S. Exchange Alumni teams have been awarded more than $1.5 million for their CDAF project, impacting the United States and around the world. This year’s alumni team submitted proposals for community service projects with the theme of protecting the environment, strengthening democratic institutions, fostering alumni networks, increasing outreach to underserved communities, and building communities through arts, sports, languages, and technology. CDAF 2022 winners will implement their project over the next six months, with all grant-funded activities completed by December 2022.
