CLEVELAND – 23rd Greater Cleveland Sports Awards presented by Medical Mutual and Ancora announce award finalists in five categories for the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission’s annual fundraiser. The winner of each category will be announced live during the Sports Awards taking place on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse (RMFH). Doors open at 5:30pm.

Representing Ohio is grad student wide receiver Sam Wiglusz (Brecksville, Ohio). He leads receivers with 11 touchdowns on 73 catches and 877 yards. Wiglusz opened the Bobcats’ home game against Akron (October 8) with an impressive 75-yard catch and scored Ohio’s first six points just 12 seconds into the game. His outstanding performance earned him First Team All-MAC, 2022 Academic All-America® Second Team, and Phil Steele First Team Offense honors. ?

The finalists were selected by local sports and media companies, as well as an awards committee that selected outstanding athletes from the following northeast Ohio counties: Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Stark and Summit. ?
