Davante Adams was frustrated after the Las Vegas Raiders’ 30-29 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He will regret how he handled this frustration.

While returning to the locker room after the game, Adams pushed the cameraman to the ground. ESPN cameras caught the action and aired it on “SportsCenter” after the game. It’s not a good look for Adams, and the NFL won’t take kindly to it either.

Adams was clearly upset at the end of the match. He and teammate Hunter Renfrow collided on the field on a fourth-and-1 pass that fell incomplete, effectively ending the game. Adams slammed his helmet in anger as he reached the sideline.

In the locker room afterward, Adams apologized in comments shown on ESPN.

“Before I answer anything else, I want to apologize to the guy – a guy ran off the field and he ran and jumped in front of me as we were coming off the field and I bumped into him and kind of pushed him and I think he ended up on the ground,” Adams said. “I wanted to apologize to him for that. It was frustration mixed with him running, literally running in front of me, and I shouldn’t have reacted that way. But that’s how I reacted in the first place, so I want to apologize to him for that. “

Interestingly, Adams spun when he “bumped into it, kind of pushed it” when it was a pretty clear hit.

Adams also apologized on Twitter.

The apology didn’t stop the videographer from reporting the game to Kansas City police, the Kansas City Star reported. According to KCPD, the man filed a report claiming he was injured in the assault from a local hospital. He traveled there alone from the stadium, although his injuries were not life-threatening. A KCPD spokesperson said the investigation into the incident will likely take more than 1-2 days and that a decision on whether to file charges will be made once the investigation is complete.

The hit came right after a crazy back and forth game. The Raiders took a 17-0 lead. They appeared to tie the game on Adams’ second long touchdown of the game, but opted for the two-point conversion and didn’t get it. They eventually had a chance to win, but Adams was on the wrong end of two big plays during the final drive in Las Vegas. Adams appeared to catch a pass that would have brought the Raiders into Chiefs territory, but replays showed he juggled the ball a bit and didn’t get both feet in bounds. It was found to be incomplete. Then came a fourth collision with Renfrow and a helmet-to-side collision.

Adams became a bigger star this season after being traded to the Raiders. He has been in several national commercials. He is one of the best receivers in the NFL and made some big plays on Monday night. But his night ended with an unfortunate and obvious blow. The NFL will discuss it at its offices on Tuesday.
