Jamie Glazier is an Australian NLP Master Practitioner, who has been playing golf for almost 20 years. We asked him why some golfers prefer to seek out mental health coaches and psychologists. a human being.

Sports psychology and mental training can sometimes overlap, but both activities focus on improving the athlete’s skills and ability to stay focused and calm during stressful situations. All athletes are exposed to elements of the system that play an important role in the sport.

This topic is controversial for some. but you may be wondering what these two major differences are. It is important to note that mental health coaches are not psychologists.

“I would clarify the difference by saying that a psychologist comes from a clinical background that targets any developmental or life problems that cause stress, anxiety, or depression,” Glazier said. “A professional artist will want to do, and make look at what the player wants to achieve or what style they want to change.”

Many golfers look for Developmental Coaches over professional golfers because they provide a well-structured mental training program for players. They can provide exercises to help build specific cognitive function that can help a golfer complete a round of golf without letting the pressure interrupt a good game.

Some athletes may want to focus only on sports and do not have any back injuries or external issues that they want to deal with and do not need the field of psychology to help.

“Some of the key areas I work with a golfer are managing expectations, developing focus, self-belief, achieving clarity, cognitive flexibility, developing commitment with the shot, self/player identity and finding balance between life and golf just to name a few,” said Glazier.
