Tennessee made a huge addition to its 2023 recruiting class on Thursday when four-star athlete Cameron Seldon announced her volunteer engagement live on CBS Sports headquarters. Seldon chose Tennessee over Maryland and Penn State to give the program its 15th class commitment.
Seldon is the fourth player in the top 100 in the Tennessee class, which is ranked 11th nationally, and could fill any number of positions at the next level. Although the catcher is considered a likely adaptation, Seldon does everything for his high school team and could even adapt as a defender or linebacker to the next level.
At 6 foot-1 and 220 pounds, the elite speedster played multiple positions on both sides of the ball while also returning junior kicks at Northumberland High School in Heathsville, Virginia last season. Candidate No. 2 of Virginia in the class of 2023 and is classified as the No. 3 by 247Sports.

Sturdy construction with dimensions to be receiver or linebacker. Dimensions are not verified through measurements, but the in-person rating is based on the 6ft-2, 220lb listed. It has strength throughout the frame. He has a multisport profile as a basketball player and state champion of Class 1A in the 100 meters. He holds the school record of 10.74 seconds. Dominant high school player at a small school in Northern Virginia. Explosive in the open field with high level speed to finish the plays in open field. Sprint to running back, quarterback and offensive catcher. Fluid athlete with the ability to churn out YAC. Good ball skills. He comes off the scrimmage line well and quickly sets off. Comfortable game in traffic. He has speed to get behind the defensive. Demonstrates the ability to close on the ball in the air. Wanting to be physical on top of the routes and in the challenge for 50-50 balls. Direction change, flurry, and short-range quickness show themselves best when playing edge or blitzing as a linebacker. It affects the game at every stage.
Seldon visited Maryland, Tennessee and Penn State in June and Penn State was considered the favorite for much of this week. But the Volunteers finished big and coach Josh Heupel will have the chance to turn Seldon into a star as he develops a more position-specific technique after playing such a versatile role in high school.
