(Story courtesy of PacWest Conference) & # xD; IRVINE, California – PacWest Conference Sports Intelligence Directors Vote for Concordia, led by Ben Rosehart, as PacWest’s 2022 Sports Intelligence Department, the first time Concordia won the award. & # XD; & # xD; Rosehart has been at Concordia for four years and oversees the school’s sports information efforts for all 19 varsity sports and five club sports, the most in any of the PacWest schools. It manages Concordia’s website and social media outlets and plays a key role in game day operations for all athletic events run by Concordia. & # XD; & # xD; One of Rosehart ‘s great achievements over the past two years has been his role in hosting the Concordia Kickoff Classic in softball. For years, the Desert Stinger has been the premier softball tournament in the Western Region in the early weeks of the season, but in two years the Concordia’s Kickoff Classic is a destination tournament for softball teams in February. In three days, Concordia hosted 52 softball games featuring the best NCAA Division II teams in the Western Region. & # xD; “For the past four years, it has been a privilege to work with Ben and see him work at all the events he hosts,” said Jared Pine, PacWest’s Director of Sports Communications. “He is uniquely qualified to succeed in the job he is called upon. Few people in this profession are able to resist his positive attitude, and I think that is what it takes to succeed. he will succeed as the individual full – time SID at a school with the greatest athletics programs in our conference. #xD; & # xD; This is not all achieved by Rosehart without much help from his part – time assistants. Kara Vincitorio, Alex Kline, Zachary Fidel and Cayden Jones have all played a key role in the success of the sports information department. & # XD; & # xD; “It is extremely humiliating and rewarding to be recognized in this way by your colleagues,” Rosehart said. “I would like to thank our sports information assistant Kara Vincitorio and all our graduate assistants as we worked diligently last year in the Concordia sports information department to help us develop how we raise our children. student-athletes and advanced teams. With all the sports we sponsor, attending our 24 programs, which includes over 550 student-athletes, is a real team effort. Former Cal Poly Pomona striker focused on baseball and basketball beats while earning his MBA. & # xD; Other graduate assistant Ts Fidel and Jones also played a major role in improving the quality and quantity of video content for CUI Athletics. Jones is a CUI soccer alum and helped carry the torch for the soccer and track and field teams, while Fidel primarily assisted with tennis coverage and swimming and diving. Both will take on larger roles as they enter the second year of their masters programs. & # XD; & # xD; “We sometimes joke that it’s not a vague moment – there’s always a great story to learn about, a new milestone to keep an eye on, or a fun highlight to share,” said Rosehart. “It’s really cool that we also have many hundred records and school records to promote since our school made the transition to NCAA DII level a few years ago.” #xD; & # xD; Concordia has hosted the NCAA West Regional in moving ball four times in the last five years, earning one of the top 2 seeds in the region each time. It’s the most hosted school in the Western Region for softball regional since Concordia became eligible for the NCAA postseason. & # xD; “I love working with the whole group we have in the Concordia and the people in our s all cocks during the conference, ”said Rosehart. “I feel that the way we serve here at Concordia has improved every year, and I am very grateful to the SIDs in the league who have helped me when I have random questions as we all do from time to time.” #xD; & # xD; For the past five years, former CUI sports information graduate assistants have gone on to work in the athletic departments of the colleges at Biola, St. Katherine and Lewis-Clark State College as well as for the Los Angeles Sparks.
