(Story courtesy of PacWest Conference) & # xD; IRVINE, California – PacWest Conference Sports Intelligence Directors Vote for Concordia, led by Ben Rosehart, as PacWest’s 2022 Sports Intelligence Department, the first time Concordia won the award. & # XD; & # xD; Rosehart has been at Concordia for four years and oversees the school’s sports information efforts for all 19 varsity sports and five club sports, the most in any of the PacWest schools. It manages Concordia’s website and social media outlets and plays a key role in game day operations for all athletic events run by Concordia. & # XD; & # xD; One of Rosehart ‘s great achievements over the past two years has been his role in hosting the Concordia Kickoff Classic in softball. For years, the Desert Stinger has been the premier softball tournament in the Western Region in the early weeks of the season, but in two years the Concordia’s Kickoff Classic is a destination tournament for softball teams in February. In three days, Concordia hosted 52 softball games featuring the best NCAA Division II teams in the Western Region. & # xD; “For the past four years, it has been a privilege to work with Ben and see him work at all the events he hosts,” said Jared Pine, PacWest’s Director of Sports Communications. “He is uniquely qualified to succeed in the job he is called upon. Few people in this profession are able to resist his positive attitude, and I think that is what it takes to succeed. he will succeed as the individual full – time SID at a school with the greatest athletics programs in our conference. #xD; & # xD; This is not all achieved by Rosehart without much help from his part – time assistants. Jones is a CUI soccer alum and helped carry the torch for the soccer and track and field teams, while Fidel primarily assisted with tennis coverage and swimming and diving. Both will take on larger roles as they enter the second year of their masters programs. & # XD; & # xD; “We sometimes joke that it’s not a vague moment – there’s always a great story to learn about, a new milestone to keep an eye on, or a fun highlight to share,” said Rosehart. “It’s really cool that we also have many hundred records and school records to promote since our school made the transition to NCAA DII level a few years ago.” #xD; & # xD; Concordia has hosted the NCAA West Regional in moving ball four times in the last five years, earning one of the top 2 seeds in the region each time.
