Jean-Denis Beaudoin from UConn Health studies the early stages of zebrafish development to better understand how defects and diseases develop in humans

Zebrafish have a similar genetic structure to humans, making them ideal organisms to study. The UConn Health Lab of Jean-Denis Beaudoin, Associate Professor of Genetics and Genome Sciences, contains a fish facility that is home to approximately 20,000 zebrafish. Beaudoin studies the early stages of zebrafish development to better understand how defects and diseases develop in humans, which could lead to future treatments. (Video by UConn Health)
