For the first time in the presidency of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, a national dialogue is being held. According to the press conference schedule/news reports, it is expected to kick off on Tuesday, 4 July 2022.
A national dialogue is best described as an inclusive and participatory platform for all sides of society to gather to raise concerns, debate issues, and propose reforms.
When Al-Sisi announced the hope to the general public on 21 April 2022, it was met with great enthusiasm and intrigue from the proponents and detractors of the government, although some opponents remained skeptical.
Regardless of the outcome, the presence of a national dialogue could mean a great deal to the future of Egypt’s political landscape.
