Could this be a role model for the Pacific Ocean?
The Imperial beach volleyball tournament scheduled to take place on July 4 has been canceled and will be replaced by an unmanned aerial vehicle exhibition, according to officials.
Power outage from traditional fireworks is one of the reasons for the change with a reduction in noise, smoke and debris, City Manager Andy Hall said in a press release Monday.
Officials said they were “delighted to introduce a new way to enjoy July 4” as the helicopter worked with the music to be broadcast at Pier Plaza and is available on the ‘ personal information from the city’s website.
Verge Aero, an unmanned aerial vehicle company from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, will present the show and other venues such as Vail, Colorado and the Lake Tahoe area on July 4.
Guests will be able to watch the show from Pier Plaza at 7:30 p.m. with performances from the Marine Band San Diego.
Seacoast Drive will remain open for bus access, but parking will not be available at all times from Palm Avenue to Imperial Beach Blvd, according to officials. There is a bus station in Pier Plaza to make it easy to get into the concert for those who are not a long way off. 5FoxNews
