Tickets for the biggest and most exclusive live cooking competition of the year go on sale on 2 August. The World Food Championships (WFC) – featuring over 1,000 guest chefs competing for industry awards – will return to Dallas for its third year November 9-13, 2022.

YFC is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and will be held in the Centenary Hall in Fair Park. From “Burger Battles” to exclusive award-winning VIP tasting sessions, there are dozens of mouth-watering opportunities for foodies of all ages to take down at the event ABC News dubbed the “Olympics of Food.” According to event organizers, this year’s event will offer DFW foodies a new experience.
“Every year we receive questions from attendees about how they can sample the amazing dishes at our tournament,” said Mike McCloud, WFC President and CEO. “So this year, for the first time, we’re creating an experience that will allow them to do just that. While our trained judges will still decide who wins each category and moves on to the $100,000 Final Table, we’re presenting an unparalleled opportunity to sample 10 incredible dishes from each of our categories through our tasting sessions “Best of the Festival” People’s Choice.”
WFC’s Best of the Fest
allows almost 1,000 people to taste real meals from the categories of BBQ, Bacon, Burger, Dessert, Sandwiches, Seafood, Soup and Steak. As well as sampling up to 10 dishes in each session, ticket holders will be able to vote for their favorite to determine the People’s Choice winner. As tickets for the Best of the Fest will be going fast, the organizers of the WCC have also planned many more tasting moments at the event, ranging from four-course tastings at the VIP Champions Tables to sampling all you can eat at the BBQ Ranch.
Here’s a list of the official WFC 2022 lineup: Ranch Barbeque -– Back by popular demand, WFC and its barbeque partners will be serving up over 5,000 pounds of barbeque favorites in a Texas-style block party spanning the five days of the event. Famous pitmasters and chefs will host demos, free sampling, competition secrets and one-on-one insights about the hottest grills and barbecue pits on the market. This attraction is part of the event’s general admission and always features special guests making amazing food.
Best of the Festival –– For the first time in the history of the WCC, YOU get to taste the championship food which is usually reserved for certified judges ONLY!! WFC’s Best of the Fest will feature real dishes submitted to our competition by award-winning chefs. From Dessert to Seafood to Sandwich and BBQ, our most popular categories will be available through a special “taster session” with ticket holders having the chance to choose their own winner! You’ll get to taste all 10 samples from the session you choose, and then vote for your favorite – which will help the WRC decide which team will win their way back to the 2023 Championship! Biscuits and Jampionships
WFC has once again partnered with Dallas-based jam and jelly company, The Jelly Queens, to bring back the “Biscuits and Jampionships” supplement chef competition. Determined through an online recipe competition months in advance, ten finalists will recreate their recipe submissions in person at WFC for a panel of esteemed judges. This delicious and quirky competition is always full of fun surprises, thanks to the lovely Jelly Queen herself, Donna Collins. Every sweet tooth should reserve for leftovers!
Bourb’N’Que — What do you get when you mix premium bourbon tastings with delicious ribs prepared by the best pit masters in America? The best BBQ block party – voted People’s Choice – Dallas has ever seen (or tasted)! If you’re a foodie who loves BBQ and bourbon, then this is a must-attend event at the WCC! Burger Battle –– Watch TEN WFC Burger All Stars as they compete for the title of People’s Favorite in an epic two-hour sampling extravaganza! Guests will have a taste from all ten competitors before casting their vote for the best burger of the night. If you love a good burger, then you’re going to LOVE this championship throwdown that will be paired with great brews and views of the Fair Park Esplanade!
Table of Champions –– An exclusive tasting feast from previous WCC champions as your sweet and savory guide. This is your chance to sample $100,000 worth of award-winning meals that will be perfectly paired with cocktails to enhance your experience. This luxury tasting event will be held next to the WFC live cooking competition heat at Kitchen Arena and is available to VIP patrons only.
E.A.T.™ Food Judge Class
An interactive event where you will be trained by an associate or professional chef from the WFC on the E.AT.™ methodology, which is a WFC scoring system that enables judges to rate at any time based on three key criteria: Execution, Appearance and Taste Only E.AT.™ certified caterers are eligible to judge in the WCC Main Event. From unique Texas bites to hidden gems across America and the World, this area will warm everyone’s palettes as the perfect preparation for the sights, sounds and smells of WFC.
VIP Lounge –– Want to sip and savor in comfort while taking in all the WFC action? The VIP Lounge is where you want to be! Attendees will enjoy a separate entrance to the main event, a private cash bar, TV screens to keep up to date with all the events, free chef demonstrations and sampling, cocktails & refreshments, and more!
