DOVER, Del. (Aug 1, 2022) – The Delaware Small Business Department announced today that it is now accepting localization readiness fund applications from qualified businesses or local governments. Established under Senate Bill 127, the fund promotes economic growth and stability by investing in the development or improvement of commercial and industrial facilities to attract job-creating companies.

The Occupational Readiness Fund provides grants, loans or other economic assistance to eligible businesses or local governments that invest in the construction, renovation, or improvement of commercial, industrial facilities that are readily available to new businesses, established businesses that are considering relocating to state, or existing businesses in the state that need additional sites to stay or expand in Delaware.

“We compete with neighboring states every day to attract and retain important businesses and jobs in Delaware,” said Regina Mitchell, p.o. director of the small business department. “The Factory Readiness Fund is an important tool that allows us to support infrastructure investments so that our country can remain competitive and encourage companies to move here. I encourage companies, municipalities and others interested in improving sites in Delaware to apply for Site Readiness Funding. ”

“The Site Readiness Fund creates more cost-effective options for companies looking to locate or expand right here in Delaware,” said Kurt Foreman, president and CEO, Delaware Prosperity Partnership. “The fund invests in ensuring that facilities across the state are ready for the types of growth and employment that we all value.”

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until all funds are granted. Site Readiness Fund applications are available at business.delaware.gov/site-readiness-fund. Once completed, applications can be emailed to business_finance@delaware.gov.
