Governor Lamont and Lt. Governor Bysiewicz Invite Businesses in States Restricting the Rights of Women to Relocate to Connecticut

(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont and Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz today released an open letter to businesses in states that restrict women’s ability to make their own health care decisions, encouraging them to relocate their businesses to Connecticut, where women’s rights are protected by state law and it is among some of the strongest states in the country.
Now more than ever is the time to look to Connecticut as the future home of your business. We have a workforce, high quality of life and values that we know will make you, your families and your employees feel welcome.
The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade means that access to reproductive rights will be up to individual states. There are far-reaching implications for companies and workers located in states that are likely to severely restrict access to reproductive rights in the coming weeks. For many of you, we can imagine that the new restrictions will feel like a betrayal and cause anxiety about where to live and work. Both customers and employees will be attracted to states that protect reproductive rights for all.
We are writing to all business owners who are disappointed with their current situation. If you want to move to a state that supports women’s rights and whose actions and laws unwaveringly support tolerance and inclusiveness, Connecticut is for you.
