UPDATE: Prime Video has added Israeli dramas Kvodo and Just for Today to its U.S. portfolio.

This follows a deal with Tel Aviv-based Yes Studios, which previously sent the likes of The Queen of Jerusalem, Fauda and Shtisel stateside.

Kvodo is best known as the inspiration behind Showtime’s Bryan Cranston limited series Your Honor. Created by Ron Ninio and writer Shlomo Mashiach, he was the Series Mania Grand Prix winner in 2017 and has made Official Selections for several other international games. Outside of the US, format updates followed in a number of regions including Germany, India, Italy, France, Turkey and Spain.

The game follows a famous judge who, through a sinister twist of fate, gets caught up in the mafia underworld. Seasons one and two are now available on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service.

Today’s exclusives will follow on August 23 on Prime Video and Google Play. He won the Special Jury Award for Series Mania, the Nir Bergman and Ram Nehari-produced show called “a touching nine-episode series about a group of released prisoners who live in a halfway house south of Tel Aviv.” The show, a Yes co-production with Endemol Shine Israel, also collected awards such as Best International TV Series at Switzerland’s Zurich Film Festival and Jüdisches Filmfestival Berlin und Brandenburg, Germany.

“We are very excited to present two of our most popular and engaging television series to U.S. viewers,” said a Yes Studios representative. “Kvodo and Just for Today are examples of great Israeli television that translates well to international viewers while providing unique insights into our culture and our stories.”
