Annapolis, MD (July 29, 2022) – Last night, County Executive Steuart Pittman opened the 2022 Artists Without Limits Art Exhibit. The exhibition will be held from August 1st to August 19th at the Arundel Center in Annapolis, Maryland, and from August 22nd to September 9th at the Chesapeake Art Center located in Brooklyn Park. , Maryland. The show features art by Anne Arundel County residents of all ages with disabilities. Twenty-five artists contributed thirty-nine pieces of art to display this year. The opening night reception was held on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. in the Blue Heron Center at Quiet Waters Park. The event included the presentation of citations to all the artists of the Maryland Delegates, County Executive Steuart Pittman, and the County Council.

This year marks the eighth annual Artists Without Borders Art Show. The event has been postponed for 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “I love this art, and I so admire the artists who create it,” said County Executive Steuart Pittman. “Artists Without Borders is a magical collaboration between our Commission on Disability Issues and our Arts Council that we look forward to every year.”

The exhibit is presented by the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities, the Anne Arundel County Commission on Disability Issues (CODI), and the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County. April Nyman, Executive Director of The Arts Council, stated, “This is the eighth year we have had the opportunity to partner with the Commission on Disability Issues on this exciting art exhibition. As jurors for the exhibition, we were so impressed with the quality of the artwork submitted.  It’s great that we can give this kind of exposure to artists with disabilities.”

Katie Collins-Irhke, President of CODI stated, “This art exhibit gives individuals with disabilities a way to display their work in a highly visible, respected way.  It actually helps change perceptions about people who have disabilities.”
