The 27th year of the Philanthropist’s Art, Music, and Film Festival is fast approaching with the annual event scheduled for August. The Carbon County Chamber of Commerce recognized the game during its monthly luncheon Thursday afternoon.

Kristen Taylor, one of the many forces behind the game, took the time to speak at the event. This year, the festival will take place in Aug. 18-21 at the Assistant historic Main Street.

“The Helper Arts, Music, and Film Festival brings together art music, film, food, entertainment and, most importantly, our wonderful community,” the festival’s website shares. “The Art Assistant Festival offers a unique experience in a beautiful setting. Our city has changed a lot in the past few years, but one thing that hasn’t changed is our appreciation for art.”

This year’s festivities will begin on Thursday, Aug. 18 with traditional theater and music performances. The music will continue throughout the weekend, with three stages spread throughout the town of Mutassiri. Attendees will also be able to enjoy vendors, food and movie screenings during the festival.

In addition, there will be a car show on Saturday. Registration will begin at 9 am at 54 South Main Street in Assistant. Attendees will be welcome to carpool throughout the day. At 4 in the afternoon. that evening, awards will be given to the top entrants.
