The Funky Heroes, who play at the Marina Lounge in Suisun City on Friday night, truly boast some of the greatest sonic powers, influenced by 1970s pop artists.

“When I was in high school, P-Funk was really hot, they were new,” said Andre Preston, founder, singer, and drummer of The Funky Heroes. “At first, I didn’t understand the concept until they came out with their comic book album, and I was blown away. I was like, ‘Wow, I just made it, this guy has a cartoon mind.’

“This whole process started to come to me completely, so, I started to come up with my own stories because at that time, I was also learning how to read music, I was doing well in the group. school program, one of one of the top drummers in the school district. So I created this band.”
