The eighth annual Devils Lake Arts Festival will kick off at 10 a.m. sas-7 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, at Manitou Beach Village. This event features over 100 vendors, food trucks, live music, a children’s art tent, petting zoo, live demonstrations and more. Walker Tavern Historic Site is offering short two-hour history experiences for elementary school children ages 6 to 11, starting at 10 a.m. until noon from Wednesday 27 July to Friday. Children ages 9 to 11 will have the same opportunity from 1 to 3 p.m. each of the three noon. The Great American Crab Races are back at the Beach Bar on Clark Lake from Thursday, through Saturday. The children’s races are at 1 p.m. Saturday and adult races begin each night at 6 p.m. The races start by buying a ticket and naming a crab. The winning crab is the one who makes the fastest trek from the center of the table to the outside of a painted circle. Crab races are an event by the Clark Lake Spirit Foundation.

Shady’s Tap Room in downtown Brooklyn is hosting a Faster Horses pre-party starting at 7 p.m. On Wednesday. There will be live music from Smokey Bears. For more information go to shadystaproom.com.

The Jackson District Library – Brooklyn Branch is hosting a teen painting program with the Jackson School of the Arts at 3 p.m. Friday, July 29. The Irish Hills Eagles have the following specials: On Wednesday, they are offering $ 1 pony dogs for members only, starting at 11 a.m. On Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m., they will have steak dinners for $ 14 and the public is welcome. They are also making an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8 a.m. by noon Sunday,. Adults are $ 7 and children under 10 are only $ 3. The public is welcome.
