The festival showcases the work of more than 70 artists who sell original and handmade pieces in many different media, such as jewelery, paintings, sketches, sculptures, glass, wood and textiles.
“For 24 years, the Summer Arts Festival has showcased the best of art and culture in our community, bringing together artists, performers and organizations for a weekend of rich, diverse and vibrant events. “When we come together for a common cause, we have the perfect opportunity to publicly show all that makes the Valley unique,” said Lori A. Factor, festival director.
Weekend events begin in the Greek Summer of St. Nicholas with music, dancing, Greek food, pastries, and cultural memorabilia. Admission is free, and a takeout lunch service is available on Thursdays and Fridays.

The YSU Summer Arts Festival begins Saturday, July 9 and runs through Sunday, July 10 at Wan Park, located on E. Street Front between the Bridge of ‘Market Street and Covelli Center. The festival will be open from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Saturday and 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Sunday.

As in previous years, the festival includes family activities and performances by many local artists.
The Planetarium Ward Beecher is also offering shows on Saturday, July 9, starting at noon, and then at 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m.

The Youngstown Wine and Jazz Concert will be held on Saturday, July 9, at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheater. This year’s concert includes Four80East, the duo of Rob DeBoer and Tony Grace, and jazz vocalist Sharon Rae North.
