Prime Video also features military entertainment. In fact, in a list of programs ranging from comic books like The Marvelous Mrs Maisel to destructive acts like The Boys, one genre can actually be called its lava.

Take Jack Ryan, a TV remake of the highly adaptable Tom Clancy, in the past played by Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck, and now played by John Krasinski of A Quiet Place. That two -season show was well received, with three and four confirmed. There is also an integration plan, which will further expand the human universe.

Also, there’s Reacher, Lee Child’s longtime muscleman, enjoying life in Prime Video. Reacher and Jack Ryan are simple, fast-paced, unpretentious stories with real cut-and-dry sense of right and wrong. It’s far from revelations about the gray nature of conflicts, like Homeland or Generation Kill. There are bad people and there are good people, and the situation is very clear.

On the line, the Terminal Line must be placed directly in that rod. The show, directed by Jurassic World: Dominion star Chris Pratt, aired July 1 on Prime Video, backed by a massive, world-trotting commercial.

It has the same important traits as Reacher and Ryan: based on a series of long -running and highly successful books, with a former high -ranking soldier now struggling with a system that wants to destroy him.

In The Terminal List, we follow Pratt’s Lieutenant Commander James Reece, a U.S. Navy SEAL who left after his group went into hiding on a secret mission. Only Reece was right, and, as he tried to piece together the truth about what had happened, his description of the events did not fit the story given by the great Bronze Navy. And, thus, an evil conspiracy has begun.

While Reacher and Jack Ryan were popular with critics – the researchers revealed their narrowness of the world, they praised their stories and the beauty of leaders Krasinski and Alan Ritchson – The Terminal List given the full kick.

We’ve gathered some of the worst responses here, but the general perception that the show is scary, boring and scary is unbelievable. Thus, we have an abysmal 37% Rotten Tomatoes label (opening in new listing).

But is it too bad? I liked Jack Ryan, even though the second season fell apart a bit, and I really liked Reacher, so I thought I’d give it a chance. I’m sad now…

Is it really that bad?

It is. The List is secret, flat, intriguing and distant, very long. Read also : What time does The Terminal List come to Prime Video?. If you think you can watch it be warned there are a few minor pitfalls below:

In fact, when he comes home, Reece is called a hero, but it’s something that doesn’t add up. He believes his superiors are covering up something, but every time he suggests that the official statement of events is not true, he is charged. Suffering from PTSD, Reece struggles to believe in himself. But when those closest to him also find themselves in the line of fire, Reece goes on a journey of revenge to correct all the wrongs done to him throughout the mission that God has forsaken. .

None of these are the first, but when done properly, they can be very effective. There is nothing like the feeling of excitement for a lone wolf as they fight the process. After a good finish, like Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne or some of Tom Cruise’s more turns like Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible, it’s fun. Sweeping along with the leader and his mission is a rush, and this is where the Terminal List falls down dramatically.

Tell us a joke…

It’s interesting to watch Pratt, who played well in the smart-ass and Guardians of the Galaxy, play a part that has absolutely no fun or humor. It is straight and puffy in every way. Given all that has happened to him, you wouldn’t expect him to do a single thing, but with no sales for the audience, we never see him happy with his unit or interested in time with his family. Reacher and Ryan have a gun in their temple every 20 minutes, but their leaders are handsome enough to take you with them. It’s so frustrating to watch Pratt, who we know can be interesting, not given the opportunity.

You don’t even have to have fun. Bourne’s films weren’t laugh-by-the-minute, but Damon gave him soul and real pain. Read also : Is Season 2 of The Terminal List happening on Prime Video?. Pratt’s Reece was made with a terrible hand, but he was an iceberg. We don’t see him teaching, just pacing his way through a body reading.

No one has a light against the constant darkness, Constance Wu is like Katie Buranek, a war writer who tries to break the story, only to turn around and be righteous before she is rejected by Reece. Lorraine Hartley’s Jeanne Tripplehorn, the Secretary of Defense, is so versatile that all of her verses end with a twinkle in the eye, but the top brass has nothing else to offer. Pratt controls every scene and has nothing to do with it.

One shade and one shade only…

It’s unique for a show with a protagonist who is so confident in the virtue of his quest that, with no idea if there’s any other way, everything, especially the action, is captured in a color scheme changed from North. of England in mid -November. This may interest you : The vision behind the Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame. Everything is gray, so gray in fact it’s hard to know what’s going on.

Antoine Fuqua, who directed the pilot, could take action. He did it on both Equalizer shows and Practice Day. It is strange to see his work in the mission field so wrong, that it is useless and lifeless and hard to follow.

I’m not angry, I’m just disappointed…

The whole feeling you get from the Terminal List is one of disappointment. All the men and women in front and behind the camera can do, and have done, much better. Instead, they give us a slog that is too long and very uninteresting.

All eight episodes of The Terminal List are now live on Prime Video.
