Welcome back to All-Tim Countdown’s Top 10 Favorite Video Games.

With this countdown, Jon Johnston and I will be counting down our top 10 favorite video games of all time. The countdown background can be found in the 10th place link, but as you can probably see, Jon and I grew up playing different video games as I grew up in the greatest era of all time and Jon grew up in a ‘other.

If you want to catch up on the countdown, here it is: 10th place 9th place 8th place 7th place 6th place 5th place 4th place.

Nate’s 3rd Place Game – Contra

I mean, this game has to be in the Top 10, right? It probably has the most iconic secret cheat codes in video game history. To see also : Most Iconic Fighting Position in Video Games.

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Select, Start

I mean, I haven’t played in maybe 20 years, except intermittently, and I still have almost that cheat code down in my memory.

It’s hard not to pull up this video and watch it. The music sounds good and once you get the scatter gun, you’re good to go.

I remember playing it with my brother over and over when we were young.

It wasn’t a complex game and its simplicity is why it was so great. You knew you didn’t need 30 extra lives but if you had a few more you would have beaten the game with no problem.

Once you understand everything.

Watching the finale, I suddenly craved a Totino pepperoni pizza.

Jon’s 3rd Place Game – The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

It should be clear by now that the story is the most important of what I consider a great video game. The Witcher, Geralt of Rivia, is an excellent story. To see also : Kyle MacLachlan joins Prime Video’s Fallout TV show. The game and the story do a great job of creating sympathy for Geralt, who as a young man is transformed into a Witcher through mutation and the Trial of Herbs. His story of the Butcher of Blaviken, the hatred that the Witchers encounter wherever they go.

Yennefer, the child surprises Ciri, Eskel, Vesemir, Triss Marigold, Dandelion, Dijkstra, the Emperor and even Geralt Roach’s horse; the game is full of rich characters and they fit very well together in a narrative that never gets boring.

I love the monsters you fight with, I love the world in which The Witcher 3 takes place. The Netflix series starring Henry Cahill is also to die for. (I’ve always wanted to use that phrase in something.)

I especially love playing Geralt, who is always ready to save the oppressed, save the girl, save the world and only get into a fight when forced to do so. I see myself as Geralt while living life … hahahahahaha!

The DLCs, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, are also great additions to an already fantastic story. Blood and Wine is an excellent ending to Geralt’s story, who at least gets a place of his own that he can build on an estate and settle down, or at least that’s what comes when you finally reach the end of the game.

If there’s a flaw in the game it’s the awkward gameplay, particularly where you can dance around a potion on the ground for three minutes before finally being in the correct position to pick it up. Then there’s the silly hop Geralt makes when you dodge.

Here’s the full game in a 33-hour YouTube video. What I want to know is: how long did it take these guys to upload this video?

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is my third best game of all time. I think it’s time to do it again.
