The official Hogwarts Legacy art book has received an updated release date, potentially marking the release of the game as well.
The Art and Creation of Hogwarts Legacy: Exploring the Unwritten Wizarding World was originally a visible placeholder date of December 31st.
However, customers who pre-ordered the book from Amazon UK have received emails indicating that the release date has been changed to 6 December 2022.
These emails (viewed by VGC) and the original item list (spotted on Reddit) may suggest that the game – which isn’t officially released until 2022 – will be released in early December.

While the game’s artbook won’t necessarily be released on the same day as the game it’s based on, Reddit user Aromatic-Adagio2121 points out that Gotham Knights, Warner Bros.’s other big game this year, has a similar artbook. While official news about Hogwarts Legacy has been hard to come by, eager fans have been scouring old footage and the game’s official website to try and find new information.
One fan even managed to access files hidden on the Hogwarts Legacy website, revealing the contents of the Collector’s Edition and Deluxe Edition of the game.
It’s not clear how long the file has been on the website, but it’s attached to links to Best Buy and GameStop, suggesting that a pre-order campaign for those items may be starting soon.
Eagle-eyed members of the Hogwarts Legacy subreddit recently discovered another secret that seems to be hiding in plain sight – a look at the game’s UI.
As posted on the HarryPotterGame subreddit, the menu items appear in just a few frames.
Published under Warner’s Portkey Games label, Hogwarts Legacy was originally slated for a 2021 release for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. However, last year Warner Bros pushed the game’s release window to 2022.
It recently reiterated plans to release Hogwarts Legacy this year (including a previously unannounced Switch version) alongside Gotham Knights in October.
