For this countdown, Jon Johnston and I will be counting down our top 10 video games of all time. The reading environment can be found in the tenth place, but as you can probably tell, Jon and I grew up playing different video games as I grew up in the main era and Jon grew up in a different one.

If you want to catch up instead of counting down, then here you go: the 10th place.9th place.

Nate’s 8th Place – Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Nate’s 8th Place - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Don’t worry. I’ve got some great stuff coming up at some point here, but for #8 I’m going with a game that changed the game when it comes to first-person shooters. On the same subject : NBCUniversal closes the Olympic Channel As Sports Migrate to Streaming.

This was the first game where my friends and I would spend hours playing non-stop. It helps that I was in college at the time too. The first-person shooter that was popular among my friends was Goldeneye.

I originally had Goldeneye in my Top 10 list but it ended up getting pushed out. We will have a respectable article before we release our #1.

Our #1 issue will be released right before Northwestern game-week so that should be exciting.

Anyway, back to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It left me a lot from the first series of campaigns. Unlike multiplayer, I enjoy campaigns more than online multi-player and the first experience on board was fun.

Some of the split screen multiplayer games were a ton of fun too. We would have trouble and play for hours and hours and hours.

It was one of those games where maybe it wasn’t the game itself that made it into the top 10 but the time you spent with your friends.

Jon’s 8th Place – Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Jon’s 8th Place - Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

This is not a setup. I had Call of Duty at #8 on my list before I saw Nate’s choice. On the same subject : Sporting goods can be a new form of Gold.

I don’t remember all of the Call of Duty games. I can’t remember the difference between them. I stopped bothering to buy them after Black Ops, because as I remember it was a bad game.

The story line of the Call of Duty games is not the most memorable. I don’t mind. I’m sure I’m not alone there.

I spent hours playing this game online. HOURS. Not friends. No one else my age knew played this stuff. Also, there is a romantic atmosphere of ten-year-olds who call everyone gay slurs, and scream endlessly about “stolen murder”. You know the right answer, but you would never say it to a 10-year-old in real life. Right?

I loved the mini maps – Rust, and Scrapyard. Later, I would come to love Shipment, the mini-map of the game. The maps are a complete mess, especially Shipment, where I usually load up with a light machine gun with a huge clip and die 38 times in one game.

I hate shooters. I hate shooting. I hate the way it works in the game. Growing up I was a hunter. I have a Remington 700 .270 for deer hunting. The “Quickscope” sniper move always bothered me. I know it’s too much to expect from a video game, but just because you got the “Sleight of Hand Pro” perk doesn’t mean you have to shoot a guy 10 feet away from you with a sniper rifle in no time. need to wipe your nose.

Then there’s the 10-year-old whose Mom you have a close relationship with thinks he’s a great person, but he’s no good if he’s on your team. THERE ISN’T. If you say something, the F WORD and slurs pour out of his mouth like there are too many of those words in his room and he has to get them off the internet before he drowns.

The Kill Streaks are down unless you’re good, and I’m not very good.

The downside to the Call of Duty franchise is – it’s only one game every year. I tried playing again recently, but I just wanted to go back to playing smaller maps in multiplayer. This worked fine until a new release came out, and this new release broke the previous release. I stopped trying to fix it.

I feel like we should have stuck Call of Duty in here somewhere. #8 seems perfect.
