Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki claims that the next From Software game is nearing the end of development.
In a new interview for the Japanese site 4Gamer, Miyazaki was asked about a previous comment he made in a 2018 interview about having more games in development.
Asked if one of those games was still on the way, Miyazki confirmed, “Yes, it is. We are in the final stages of development. “
In a previous 2018 interview, Miyazaki stated that the studio has been working on ‘three and a half’ games since 2016, and half of the game is the PS4 VR title Déraciné.
“There are 3.5 lines that have been under construction since that time,” Miyazaki said. “0.5 is Déraciné, 1.0 is Sekiro, and the remaining 2.0 are unannounced titles.
When asked to elaborate, he said, “It’s not the right time to talk about them in detail, but I think both games are typical of us. It will take a little longer, but I think we will be able to tell you about them one by one as they take shape. ”
In the four years that followed that interview, it was revealed that one of those games was Elden Ring, but the other had not yet been released. Given his claims at the time, this new unannounced game seems to have been in development since at least 2016.
The game in question is believed to be Armored Core 6, which was reportedly mentioned in a consumer survey earlier this year.
A Red Liquorica Resetter user claimed in January that they had received a poll from the Elden Ring and Dark Souls studios, which seemingly revealed the first details about the next unannounced mech combat game.
The alleged unnamed part, which would be Armored Core’s first full title since 2012, reportedly contains “the world of science fiction created by Hidetaka Miyazaki”, “three-dimensional, dynamic action” and “a high degree of freedom in adaptation”.
