The upcoming DC superhero game from WB Montreal, Gotham Knights, will feature the largest version of the iconic city of Gotham ever seen in a video game.
In an interview with Game Informer, Game Director Geoff Ellenor was asked how the Gotham Knights version of DC’s flagship city relates to Gotham with the open world seen in Batman: Arkham Knight. To see also : DC wants to significantly improve its video game production.
“It’s pretty big,” said Ellenor. “I didn’t put one map on top of another, but our Gotham is a big place.”
Executive producer Fleur Marty added: “It is definitely the biggest version of Gotham that has been represented in video games. The most important thing for us is its density and verticality. It has a lot of layers. Batcycle is a long-haul means of transport.
The map of Arkham Knight was about five square kilometers and consisted of three islands and many neighborhoods. Gotham’s enormous size was made possible by the use of the Batmobile, which helped you travel across its vast land with speed and style. The Knights of Gotham may not have a Batmobile, but they do have the Batcycle and other travel mechanics, be it the Fast Bat system or items like the Nightwing’s Flying Trapeze glider.
