WASHINGTON, Dec 30 (Reuters) – The United States is concerned about China’s alignment with Russia as Moscow continues its incursion into Ukraine, the U.S. State Department said on Friday after a video meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“Beijing claims to be neutral, but its behavior clearly shows that it is still invested in close ties with Russia,” a State Department spokesman said, adding that Washington was “closely monitoring Beijing’s actions.”
