USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), the U.S. Navy’s newest and most advanced aircraft carrier, joined six NATO allies on November 8, 2022 for Exercise Silent Wolverine in the eastern Atlantic.
Silent Wolverine tests world-class aircraft carrier capabilities through integrated high-end naval warfare scenarios alongside participating NATO allies. Exercise participants include Canada, Denmark, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Spain and the United States.

Gerald R. Ford is a premier US aircraft carrier integrating 23 new technologies, including major advances in propulsion, power generation, weapons handling, and aircraft launch systems. The Ford-class aircraft carrier generates improved aircraft launch and recovery capacity with a 20 percent smaller crew than the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier.
