Bush Carrier Strike Group (GHWBCSG) represented the United States at this year’s World Naval Defense Exhibition (EURONAVAL) trade show in Paris, France on October 19-21, 2022.
American participation in EURONAVAL highlights the strength of American commitment to the security of Europe and demonstrates that American industry produces equipment that will be critical to the success of current and future military operations.
“The United States is here to strengthen our partnership with our NATO allies and demonstrate our capabilities in the maritime domain,” said Lt. Commander Dean “Debbie” Downing, assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 103.
The EURONAVAL Trade Fair in Paris is the largest and oldest Ship Exhibition in the world. There are more than 480 exhibitors at each EURONAVAL, which attracts up to 25,000 visitors.
“EURONAVAL is important because it is the largest trade fair in Europe specific to the maritime domain” said Downing. “Together, America’s and NATO allies continue to transform and modernize our military forces by sharing innovations and embracing each other’s diversity.”
GHWBCSG, is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Navy Europe-Africa area of operations, staffed by U.S. Sixth Fleet to defend US, allied and partner interests.
George H.W. Bush is the flagship of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 10 and the GHWBCSG. CSG-10 consists of George H.W. Bush, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 7, Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 26, the Information Warfare Commander, and the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55).
