The Research Assistant is responsible for the development and implementation of a statewide needs assessment for the Early Refugee School Impact (RSI) program. Early RSI is a new component of the Office of Refugee Resettlement’s (ORR) RSI program, expanding RSI’s focus to include early childhood programs for ORR-eligible children ages 0-6 and their families. Early RSI aims to raise the quality of services available to refugee children and families across Kansas on the birth-to-kindergarten continuum, specifically to promote access to child care, ensure children are prepared for success in formal schooling, and holistically support the family at this critical stage of development children. This is a five-month temporary assignment, with possible extension based on program needs.
